If gawd existed, it would know exactly what evidence it would take to convince each and every one of us. Why is it that all we get are crackpots with unconvincing logical arguments?

Prime matter is "real" only insofar as it, though just barely removed from non-existence, is not non-existence.
As I write: "To say that prime matter exists is to say that it is potentially, given the appropriate agent, all possible things" but no actual thing.
When I read such word salad as this, I feel unable to engage with its content, because it is so abstruse, (difficult to penetrate; incomprehensible to one of ordinary understanding or knowledge). Thus I have nothing with which to engage. You may or may not view me as worthy of your attention, but as for myself, when I write, I prefer to frame what I write so that it is lucid, and not impenetrable. datc, you asked for feedback, and this is mine: your writing may have a clear meaning to you, but for me, it is of no meaning.
I acknowledge that I am not engaging with your argument, but only because I can't understand it. I would have been willing to, had I been able to get a handle on what it is you are trying to convey, assuming that you want to convey it to the likes of me. If not, then so be it, and I cannot engage.

I would have said religion is a filter... Those silly enough to believe in it are also silly enough to give their money away ... Works well for its intended purpose.

Happy for you. Try to enjoy your gold without getting lead poisoning.
I've been thinking that the basic form of all arguments for God could be expressed better as:
(1) Condition X is unimaginable without God.
(2) Condition X is well established.
(3) God exists.
And the universal basis for rejecting the argument is that (1) always and necessarily begs the question, thereby smuggling in as a premise what was supposed to be argued for. The fact that "God" always goes undefined is another issue.

There are many ways to prove God. You proved it from the angle that he is the living, well done.

Let me see if I understand, so you're saying:
(1) If God is living, God exists.
(2) Someone just said He is living.
(3) Therefore God exists.
Well, as good as any I suppose.

You probably understand the correct real reasoning that proves God through the name the living, but you will be obtuse.

Because, for whatever reason, said crackpots apparently need their god to be real, and our lack of belief somehow casts aspersions on their beliefs. Therefore, they feel a sacred obligation to both prove us wrong and enroll us in their particular flavour of belief. *shrug*
A spirituality that can be emotionally impugned by the very existence of contrary views is, IMO, not worth the neurons it's imprinted on.
