Comical word filter disasters.
November 26, 2017 at 8:58 am
I was on a forum that was run by some very prudish admins. One of the words they filtered was "shit". It got really funny when we started talking about edible fungi and saw "poo-pooaki mushrooms" recommended for certain dishes.
Any favorites in your memory banks?

When I used to run a discussion forum, I'd use the swear filter deliberately for comical effect. So some politician's name would be substituted as something else, e.g. "Theresa May" would be replaced with "Empress May, daughter of Beelzebub and Agnes from the local chippy, destroyer of democracy and defiler of puppies"
Sometimes a word would take a long time to be found, sometimes they really stood out and other times the change was very subtle. But it was funny when someone littered their post with the banned word and didn't check over what they had posted. Entries in the swear filter were only replaced when someone posted that they had found one.
