My main point is, while Cristiano is a fucking football machine, he can't carry the whole team. Well, better next time. And IMO Cristiano is the archetype of an athlete. He loves what he does. Too bad the rest of the team couldn't keep up with him. Who would anyway?
what's going on??? another team from the top is out of the game .... Germany, Portugal, Argentina and now Spain, fck ...!

Spain seemed to dominate the ball for most of the match. Did not expect Russia to win this, but then penalty kicks is a different game. It seems to me, in my admittedly naive/uninformed understanding of football, that England's biggest problem over the years has been mainly psychological... mental blocks and bad expectations, but with our biggest rivals out now (Germany and Argentina) maybe that's the confidence boost we need to stand a chance here. It would be nice to get to wear this brand spanking new and very comfortable England shirt a bit longer than till Tuesday Like in another World Cup, don't ask me which one , I bought a number 10 Owen shirt, and he only went and got himself injured and out of it early on, so people were jeering at me when I carried on wearing that shirt... but it was just so comfortable Decided I wasn't going to make the same mistake this time... so this one's just a blank unnamed/unnumbered one, which hopefully... as long as England doesn't make a complete pig's breakfast of it going forward... I'll get to wear a lot longer
I'm gonna be rooting for Mexico in the one that's just about to start... hoping they knock out another rival, Brazil And in the later game I'll be rooting for Belgium, for Mr Obvous' sake, since he's been very sportsmanly so far
Brazil v belgium would be a match to see.
Go belgium! Hoping we get to meet The giants on The field.

Well, good luck in tonight's game... and good luck again... you'll need it ... if you go through to play Brazil next. Giants they definitely seem to be... they always seem so much more frantic than other teams, and I thought France was aggressive It's like the goalie never gets a rest in a Brazil game
Well if any man can take it, apart from Tim howard, it's courtois. Key will be to take control of th game though. Not easy against brasil.
But... First things first. Japan will kot go down without a fight.

Not easy against brasil. Yeah, I'm sorry if I'm seeming a bit general with my comments, but that's the level I understand the game at. Ie I enjoy watching the World Cup... mainly out of patriotic feeling... but I don't follow football any other time, and I haven't played it since school So basically I understand the rules, and can follow a game in general, but I generally don't know player names or positions etc... or anything more intricate than very general tactics. So, yeah, sorry if I've oversimplified things... I'm not familiar with Japan... I don't know what to expect... or Belgium for that matter. So from my perspective it's just watch and see what happens and hope for an entertaining game... ie one that's not just passing in the middle of the field all through it |
