FIFA World Cup 2018
RE: FIFA World Cup 2018
So close Sad

... see you on Saturday Mr Obvious Wink

According to the wiki, apart from winning in 1966, England has only ever been in one other semi-final, in 1990... in which they lost to West Germany and then lost to Italy in the 3rd/4th playoff... so other than the win in 1966, our highest place has been 4th. So this match on Saturday offers the chance to beat that record and make it 3rd... so hopefully that'll be a good motivator for England to take this match seriously (if they don't already... I don't know how teams generally feel about 3rd/4th... after losing out on a final) and play this rematch as something that really counts for something. In other words Mr Obvious, I hope that's enough reason for you/us to expect a proper game on Saturday... since there's something to aim for... rather than another half-hearted attempt/throw as per our first game Wink

Best of luck to you too Mr Obvious Smile May the best... or failing that, the luckiest... team win today (which of those epithets we apply to the teams we can both decide after the game Big Grin J/K). But anyway, more than that, let's just hope for a good game Smile

Aye. We can't ask for more than that.

Well played England.
A game in which one second could've turned The ride. Were it not for Toby.

Congratulations for your win today and consequently Belgium going further than it's ever been in the World Cup Smile

As I said before I don't really know player names... so not sure who Toby is... but I'll make a guess that it's the guy that slid in to save a goal? If so yeah, that was amazing and if it hadn't happened maybe the tide could've turned. But it wasn't to be and England didn't really get going until the second half. So I think the better team, at least of the day, won here... so congrats again Smile
