I think that there is a thread this long about soccer, and that hockey is never discussed, is yet another sign that you are all just a bunch of senseless heathens Smile

Anyways I seen this satire piece concerning soccer the other day.  I thought it was pretty funny.

Soccer Player Suffers Career-Ending Boo-Boo
https://babylonbee.com/news/soccer-playe...g-boo-boo/

Quote:Doctors initially thought the injury was just an ouchie, but after examining the player more extensively, they gravely concluded it was in fact the dreaded boo-boo. Boo-boos are responsible for more early retirements from the sport than any other injury, including oopsies, bump-bumps, and owies.

“We’re not optimistic,” an official World Cup doctor said in a press conference. “I’ve seen lots of boo-boos in my day when players fall down and go boom, but this one is pretty severe. That other player must have been running within four or five feet of him on the field when he spontaneously flipped onto his back and began grabbing his leg, screaming in pain from the boo-boo.”

Lol ... I'm not a pagan Tongue and soccer is fun when I was a young girl I played football and I had fun! But I was also going to hockey games and I was having so much fun too... so after World Cup we can talk about hockey ... I go into it!!  Big Grin

Oki dokie.... Yesterday was the seventh World Cup day but i didn't have to much time to watch all matches but i saw the last one and i have to admit that the second half was amazing... Croatia was awesome..  And L. Modric did more than just score a stunning goal, he's taking on a playmaking role and he showed his class in arranging attacks.  Big Grin Though Argentina tried to take the initiative and enjoyed the ball more part of the game, but they were unable to convert it into chances, even with not visible Messi.
But the final result 0:3 for Croatia!! Tongue
Messi after the last goal...

shame Argentina... shame!!!

and the rest results
Denmark - Australia 1: 1
France - Peru 1: 0

There are no gods.

But there is football.

And that's close enough.

Lots of upsets this year. I haven't had much time to watch it, but try when i can. I want to see Brazil vs Costa Rica when they re-air it. I wanted either to win the whole thing and would prefer if they played in the finals. I went for Costa Rica between the two.

I'm a huge soccer fan and have been since 2013. That being said, this WC has definitely been very interesting to watch! I also have Peruvian, German, Swedish and Egyptian friends all fiercely supporting their own teams, so it's been a riot so far. I'm a Messi fan, so I support Argentina purely for Messi, not because I actually like the Argentina team. It's trash.
ARGCRO was crushing for me, being a huge MS10 fan and all, but I'm glad Nigeria beat Iceland, even if I love the Icelandic spirit. Now at least Arg have a good chance, even if I don't see how the team that showed up against Croatia can possibly beat Nigeria.
Croatia has been performing really well, Rakitic and Modric have been amazing. Definitely also rooting for them.
Which teams do you support?
For me, it's Arg (purely for Messi), Spain, Brazil, Croatia, Iceland, Russia, Uruguay, Germany, and Mexico. Probably in that order.

Hello DodosAreDead, it's nice to see you back and great that you are also a soccer fan Big Grin .. I, of course, support my team Poland Tongue .. although so far it's hard them to play... meh Sad ... But I also support Portugal, Croatia, Iceland, Mexico, maybe Nigeria and Switzerland. Although I really like South American football but this time Argentina gave me a little disappointment especially Messi ..
