God's wife

God's wife
Although Christians believe that God has a wife (Mary) Biblical scholars agree that he also had one in the OT. It comes partly from reading the Bible and encountering passages referring to other gods, actually the pantheon of Gods to which OT God frequently talks to and also from archeological evidence where they can see that ancient Jews were polytheist and also worshiped statues of Goddess that was OT God's wife.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

The God character of the Old Testament was simply the series of crazies who ruled the dominant Middle Eastern empire at various times. So being men they all had a herd of women with maybe one specific wife.

Yahweh's wife was Asherah.

Quote:God had a wife, Asherah, whom the Book of Kings suggests was worshipped alongside Yahweh in his temple in Israel, according to an Oxford scholar.

And American archaeologist Bill Dever has written an entire book on the subject.

So god is an asshole with a busty wife. Just like Trump.
Is that why Evangelicals love the orange buffoon so much?

BTW the biblical scholar in this video has an adorable accent.

In ancient times if you were the ruler you were usually given the title "god" or "goddess" and worshipped.

Father son and Holy Ghost, you'd think somebody in the Trinity would have a vajayjay . . .
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

That was interesting, thanks for that.

Ah, no. The bible identifies the bride of Christ as the Church.

Sure now. Just like suspect in the interrogation room, story keeps changing.

No, sorry, that is not what they believed back then. You want it to be that way now because it suits your own bias.

Again..

below is a wiki page that lists out all the times in the bible (New and OT) where the church is considered the "Bride of Christ."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bride_of_Christ

As you can see it has NEVER Changed. The "wife" of God has always been the church. What has changed is your source material has never read the bible and they are just speculating how people without knoweledge or understanding do.
