You want to discuss the claims of a fictional character? Ok, give me some more details, what's this dude actually saying. And I wouldn't worry to much about revealing the plot, afaics there arn't many around these parts rushing out to buy the thing.
So let's have it; what's the story.

I personally won't end our world's religions. They will die on their own, in a whimper. slow boiling frogs.

Like...seriously, or as devices?  As devices they work for his genre.  He'll sell some books I'm sure.

Seriously, though...the moment that it can be conclusively shown that our creator god stories were utter garbage with regards to our origins?  That ship sailed nearly two hundred years ago.  The people at the helm didn't know it, and they certainly didn't know about each other, and we wouldn't know it for some time....but..in retrospect, that was the beginning of the end.   We'd have to be wrong about everything we know about life..right down to the most trivial of shit..and even that wouldn't salvage god stories so much as refine our biology.

-and yet people still believe in those gods.  Nobody gives a fuck about "gods" that can be made to fit with the biological reality of our existence.  Nobody.  You don't find people arguing for that kind of god...you certainly don't find them voting the way they imagine that god would want them to, or going to war because that kind of god would want them to.  You find them rejecting it and facts in favor of fantasy.

I don't see why this would change just because a computer told us something that we already know.  Circling back around...where I think it fails as a story can be summed up as one god telling us that some other god isn't real.  This incredibly competent and powerful entity represented by AI pulls the strings on the characters this way and that, is hiding under ever rock, explains our origins....makes a prophecy for the future..and then goes "poof".

Thanks Jesus!  I mean Winston.  Dodgy

I do not wont to spoiler anyone so I am including this warning:

!!!SPOILER ALERT!!!
Please only read further if you already have read the book!

What do you guys think of the facts that were supposed to destroy all religion?
Do you agree that his vision of the Future might come true?
And to the believers out there: IF these things were true, would you abandon your religion? Why? or Why not?

I personally thought that his vision of the future was not that special. There have already been a lot of people predicting such a future and I do not think is a distopian thought.
But the "proof" that live just springs out of ordinary matter would be pretty hard for the religious of this world. For it is not only one of the greatest mysteries in science but also one of the main things I heard religious people talk about when explaining thir faith to me.

Not a single thing in that book will ever come close to being even remotely true. It is a shitty fiction book from a shitty fiction author.

He's based his books off the Priory of Zion hoax fabricated by fantasist Pierre Plantard, for fucks' sake!

I've just err, acquired, the thing.

PROLOGUE

Quote:AS THE ANCIENT cogwheel train clawed its way up the dizzying incline, Edmond Kirsch surveyed the jagged mountaintop above him. In the distance, built into the face of a sheer cliff, the massive stone monastery seemed to hang in space, as if magically fused to the vertical precipice.

This timeless sanctuary in Catalonia, Spain, had endured the relentless pull of gravity for more than four centuries, never slipping from its original purpose: to insulate its occupants from the modern world.

I need to go and lie down.

I didn't get that jerkoff award out of a box of cereal, you know; I had to work hard to earn it.

It's going to be difficult to talk about something that only you, it seems, have read. Or would care to read. But please, don't let our opinions stop you.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
