An eternity listening to any one musician would be hell. Man cannot live on bread alone, etc etc.

Reasons to detest Jazz # 9
|
Oh, joy... yet another video-sodden thread that ties up my mobile browser. I can't find the words to thank you all enough.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
I like how the anti-jazz thread turned into a jazz thread.

I like old jazz like Cannonball Adderley, Art Blakey, Count Basie and others now, but as a tween and teen, I'd listen to a "smooth jazz/new age" redio station popular wit my peers' parents (I didn't get on too well with folks my age. Might have been my disability). Kind of funny seeing YouTubes of this kind of stuff now.

I would have never guessed it was done solo if I hadn't seen the live one though. I looked him up. Jeff Andrews Wrote:Kenny G famously set the world record for longest note ever played on a sax at 45 minutes by circular breathing with a soprano saxophone, the smallest of the four primary saxes... Given what he's doing on a bass, one might think Stetson could hold a note on a soprano for the rest of Kenny G's natural life if he wanted to. The melody of "Judges" is just his voice—he's singing into the horn while he plays. He uses what he calls a "dog collar mic"—a contact mic strapped to his throat—to record the melody of "Judges," as well as to amplify it during performances in large venues.https://noisey.vice.com/en_us/article/jp...-saxophone (February 16, 2018 at 3:31 pm)downbeatplumb Wrote:Uh, "Country" is sounds, not music. If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.
The ultimate Country song:
"Wellll, since they took my momma off to prison, Things down on the farm ain't bin the same. Now they done and let her out the jailhouse, She drove her goddamn truck into a train."
