Like a lot of things in life the answer is "It depends. Unless Boru disagrees."

Just because something qualifies as 'art' doesn't mean that 1) it doesn't suck, and 2) I don't hate it.
Boru
Why did you say "Boru"?

I know it's bizarre, but I liked the Avatar movie. I never watched the cartoon, which is why I think I was able to enjoy it.

I liked it too. Just found it interesting really.
And tbh, I like anything trippy.

Between it being a remake of a popular cartoon and Shymalan directing it, people wanted to hate it.

As Boru said.
Yes anime is art.
Doesn't mean it doesn't suck.

That's a trippy movie.

As a standalone movie, it might've worked, but for someone who has seen the actual animated version... it is a straight up insult!

Yeah, I think that's what saved me from hating it. I'm not big into anime, so I was able to get into it. I did enjoy Death Note and Ninja Scroll. The former recently and the latter when I was younger and had stupider taste in films.
