Probably most Nobel winners (in the sciences) for the last 70 years, have been atheists.

Here's another great human.

Norman Borlaug. Called "the man who saved a billion lives".

His research in agriculture has saved countless lives. He won the Nobel in 1970.

I would say a larger number than anyone thinks were actually closet atheists

It's hard to figure out the point.  The existence of smart atheists don't make us any less dumb.  Just like pointing out some smart theists wouldn't make the theists around here any smarter.

We're all fairly dimwitted around these parts.

Einstein was a romantic pantheist (god to him was just a poetic word for the cosmos). He didn't believe in a literal god, not even a literal pantheist god.

Despite all the problems that he had with the church he continue to believe in God until his very end.

Ironically he also invented Zyklon A, the agent the Nazis used for genocide via gas chamber, and he was run out of Germany by the Nazis because he was Jewish.

Not that it makes a difference, but I believe it was Zyklon B.

I've brought up Linus Pauling before, either here or another board. Atheists usually don't appreciate his views on Vitamin C and cancer...
