Why the hell are they bringing back Roseanne

RE: Why the hell are they bringing back Roseanne
Just the sheer impossibility of Rosanne existing is a testament to her talent.  An overweight poor family?  And on top of that, no Melissa McCarthy/Chris Farley style fat humor?  She's clearly tapped into something. It's a shame she's gotten the Chapelle treatment where 'they''ve been able to put her in a box.  But anytime she gets the chance to say something in a forum other than a 3 minute spot promoting a show on late night tv, it's always fascinating.

Roseanne show back in the 90s pushed having gay characters, it was a welcome change.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Yes and? And there are "Log Cabin Republicans" too. So she supports a party willing to screw gays over economically too. If you want a real advocacy sitcom that would be Will And Grace, and far funnier to me.

Most sitcoms are shot in Hollywood , which has long been pro gay. Married with Children was a very sexist sitcom, but even it had an episode where Al was getting advice from a gay man.

Rosanne is not a republican.  You'll probably recognize a lot of her positions.

Yea, she did tap into the angry white rustbelt family. Problem is urban and suburban and rural blacks STILL get hurt worse on average by the economy and justice system.

Show me the episode of "Chapelle" that made fun of her? She'd deserve it, but I don't remember a skit of his show singling her out.

And what is wrong with the Chapelle Show anyway? I hope you aren't going to bring up the "reverse racism" bullshit.

^^^^^^ THAT may have been then, but SHE DID VOTE FOR TRUMP

Trump ran with an anti LGBT VP, so if she really does support LGBT she basically said to her own friends, "FUCK YOU"...

The Chappelle treatment, is when you don't get in line, and they stick you in a box.  They try to reduce you to something small, and they convince the masses that's all you are.  When Dave didn't play along the first time, he got labelled Crazy, and they insinuated he was on drugs.

Despite everything she said in that video, you reduce her to the binary choice she made between Trump and Clinton in a single election.  That's how the system has been designed.  Instead of dealing with her complicated thoughts on the world, they've stuck her in a nice little box with a placard that says 'Voted for Trump.'

And going back to Chappelle, I would bet good money that Dave has a massive amount of respect for Rosanne.  Don't forget Dave on the SNL after the election said some stuff like "Maybe give him a chance!"  And they tried to jam him in the "Trump" box for that.  He's lucky enough to have a following and outlet in the Netflix specials where he can fight back against that shit now.  But most people don't.
