Golf, anyone playing that "sport"?

Is there anyone here enjoying the so called "sport"? If it now is a sport I would rather compare it with, I don´t know, painting a wall? Smoking a ciggarret?
Anyway don´t be shy to say that like gold, even tough I will probably mock you a little bit.
I have worked on a golfclub, strange you may think, but it was quite fun. To work, not golf. Which I would never do.

My wife and I intend to play it ... as long as you don't take it too seriously or join the pose golf set I don't see a problem, it's just a game.

Kyu, don't do it! I have played a lot of sport and always got better over time. Not so with golf! It can destroy you!

LOL ... unfortunately there is very little my wife and I can do together (our interests and activities are quite different) so this and rambling (not that I'm that fussed about that either) are amongst the few we can do.

Sad to report that the new British Open champion Cink invoked god into his valedictory speech.
Another bible-belt Americain did the same as I recall after the American Open a few years ago.
Another example of the capricious nature of the invisible one.

I agree with George Carlin that all the masses of huge amounts of Golf Courses in the US [for instance] should be replaced with homes for the homeless and stuff that actually matters. The game takes up so much room (and for such a little ball too!) - and such space could be used for the better.
I've played a bit of crazy golf for a laugh. Not quite such a waste lol...all the rich people who spend so much time on Golf Places and do take it so seriously, I also agree with George Carlin that they should be left to "fuck with a windmill for a while", let them play crazy golf lol.
If I can find a clip of it outside the full stand up I could perhaps post it if anyone wished lol.

Nowt against it - not a fan really. We had a range near us as a kid - that was fun ..and we'd sneak onto the range to refil our baskets. Got addicted to pitch and putt a couple of summers too. I intend to take the kids up to our local club that has a range when they're old enough. It's an ordinary persons club with a bar, this being a rural area. I hate snobbery, but I have mates who are into it seriously who do the big courses.

When playing a games especially sports,it is nice if you wear your favorite clothes or accessories to increase your fighting spirits or wear a comfortable clothes in order for you to win that game. If I am playing a sport, I am really enjoying it. An you cannot compare a sport like golf and tennis to painting a wall and smoking a cigarette?

Why not, from painting the wall at least I get some satisfaction that I don't have to do it again for the next few years.
A friend of mine is an huge golfing enthusiast, and I'm glad for him he found a sport he likes. But its not for me.
Best regards,
