Quote:Is there anyone here enjoying the so called "sport"? If it now is a sport I would rather compare it with, I don´t know, painting a wall? Smoking a cigarette"?

I played for few weeks, when I was in the army. (we had our own course)

With borrowed clubs and a mate teaching me,off we went-----

First hole; par 3. Using an eight iron (I think),a nice little drive, just as I was told. As the ball arched gracefully he said "SHIT! I think that's a hole-in-one!" - It wasn't,the ball stopped about 4 feet from the cup.I sank it in one putt; a birdy on my first hole. I completed the 18 holes 4 strokes over par, failing to understand why people thought golf was hard.

Second game,37 strokes above par. Third game 46 over par.Fourth game I broke the eight iron and gave up golf on the sixth hole. (that was in 1969)

Don't like golf any more and Tiger Woods gives me the shits;the guy's freaky.Confused Fall

LOL @ Padraic's story.

Golf.

I used to "play" golf every-so-often. Been a long time though.

I say "play" because I never-ever took or kept a score card. I'd walk up to the tee, smack the ball down range, repeat until it was on the green, putt the ball. I didn't care if it went in the hole, if it stopped within 6 inches (that's 1.27 cm for you foreigners) of the hole, I'd pick it up and continue on.

I prefered to do this alone. Ya, it was fun doing it with friends, competing and all, but nothing matched the serenity and relaxation I found just strolling along smacking a little ball becoming one with my thoughts, and thus the universe. Smile
I used to tell a lot of religious jokes. Not any more, I'm a registered sects offender.

6 inches = 15.24 cm.
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
