I don't think too many Christians appreciate the difficulties of no matter how generous they are in 'bumping up' the 6000 year thing how far off the mark they still are and then on how consequently the universe is going to keep running.

Many Christian can’t appreciate anything that does not appear susceptible to them to their own efforts at misrepresentation to prop up tgeir Bible.

RE: Hawking and Krauss
Hawking figuring out that his namesake radiation would have a spectrum of wavelengths that change over time as the black hole succumbs was freaking brilliant.  And even better, I understood it.

An 'aha' moment I've never encountered (favorably towards God) in Scripture.  'Aha' moments in Scripture revolve around little gems like Mark and Luke reversing the order Jesus parceled out the bread and wine at the Last Supper. Ooops !! Even Huggie ain't going to take a swipe at 'splainin' that goof.

LOL, just as plainly worded as Hawking writing about black holes in Brief History of Time, but damning in it's important to those asserting Scriptural Inerrancy and Literalism.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

RE: Hawking and Krauss
The proofs of atheism by physicists Hawking and Krauss are the most complex (newest) Books The Supreme Plan and the Universe from Nothing
The universe has no reason
Slightly less sophisticated are the biologists Darwin, Dawkins and Markov (new)
Man originated from an ancient animal
Even less complicated is the philosopher Aristotle about the laws of logic (old)
There is no reason to believe in God because there is no consistent notion of him
The simplest proof of atheism is the historical (ancient)
Atheists have always been. Even in Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia. The Bible is based on a more ancient Sumerian mythology. God came up later than the spirits. There used to be totemism, animism and shamanism, and God was invented later. The first people were atheists.

RE: Hawking and Krauss
space and time have no beginning
because of gravity, the Big Bang was created
originated matter
the universe was not created
matter was created
a solar system formed from a gas and dust cloud
then the land was formed
then the first cell
then man

Have you read Krauss's book? I have.

It doesn't prove what you say it proves.

At work.

Well... I think Belaqua, that the OP not having English as a first language is causing some slight communications problems.

Hawking and Krauss is one version of the origin of the universe.
How do you like the Neil Turok and Roger Penrose cyclical universe?

it seems like Richard Tolman proved the inconsistency of the cyclical universe due to the problem of entropy, in the middle of the 20th century

He couldn't help it, poor fellow, as he died too soon.  Entropic considerations are more or less answered by things like brane cosmology and loop quantum cosmology, among others.
