Deidre's Ramblings

RE: Deidre's Ramblings
Sunday, May 27

This is sort of a shout out type of entry today, for all the people here, who make AF a welcoming place...even for spiritual people...even for theists. There are of course a few exceptions, lol but, overall, this place is inclusive. Of course, as long as everyone is respectful, it seems to flow well. I've been on other sites, and it's just not there. There seems to be this awkward competition going on among its members, trying to one up each other or out do each other...with the next witty comment. And it's really REALLY refreshing to see people on this site who respect their marriages, and the marriages of others. I'm not a prude, we can all flirt innocently on here, and it's in good fun, but dayum, there are married people on the internet who just clearly have no respect for their partners. I'm often shocked to learn about people who are actually married, because that's how ridiculous they flirt. I can't imagine being their spouse or partner. If you don't love your spouse, or they're not having sex with you, whatever it may be...GET OUT. Don't cheat, and disrespect her/him, and carry on like you're single. And then, they try to play their game on me and I'm actually happily married...newly married, and happy...and they don't like my advice.

Again, I'm not a prude, but ...ugh.

I simply don't see that shit going on, here. I don't know every single person here of course, but just out in the open forums? Seems like the married peeps here talk positively about their spouses...at least, bring them up in conversation and not in negative ways. It's nice to see people on this site, with a different outlook on marriage.

I guess this is why atheist relationships/marriages, tend to last longer than their theist counterparts. All things considered. Obviously, we all know atheists who get divorced, etc, but not like what I've seen IRL, and online. So, I like it here, is what I'm trying to say. The grass is not greener anywhere else. Heart

I've been thinking about this Roseanne thing. I don't really like her type of humor, didn't watch the ''reboot,'' and really tend to just watch occasional news shows, or Netflix. I think for me, two things stand out...1) racism is alive and well, sadly, in 2018 and 2) that people care way too fucking much about what celebs think. Maybe one more thing...3) We seem to place celebs on pedestals, and when they fall from grace, we look on with our popcorn and pitchforks. It's wrong to do that, I think...gloat when someone powerful or famous falls from grace. We're all capable of terrible thoughts also, and what I'm hopeful of with Roseanne, is that instead of continuing to blame Ambien and that the world just 'doesn't understand her type of humor,' that she really learns from this. Reflects and tries to figure out why she has such dark thoughts about people. Or certain groups of people.

She could consider this...her "reboot".

I think some people are too far gone to reboot themselves. They need blue butt Rafiki knocking sense into them like he did with Simba. Otherwise... no chance.

Yea, the fact that she blamed being on Ambien?  lol And that most of the country simply ''doesn't get her humor,'' shows me she wasn't all that contrite with her apology. I don't know.

What did you think about her comment about the Muslim brotherhood? That's a radical Islam group from what I can tell, with strong leanings on Sharia Law. Roseanne also tweeted that in a derogatory way, too.

It doesn't matter to me.  These are all diversions for society and it's individuals to prevent them from realizing the task they must do and diversions from implementing them, and there are indeed necessities the hypocrites and disbelievers all forbid people to agree upon or do to bring about peace and justice.

I won't go to details, lest I ruin your thread. Smile

While I'm not sure I buy her excuse, in her defense, ambien is known to have some weird ass side effects.

I think we could say that about any substance when you think about it. She should just own it and say ''I fucked up'' etc...She sort of did, but there's also hypocrisy with other celebs who insult ad nauseum ...the President, his wife, his kids, etc. and there's no comparable back lash. Samantha Bee apologized, but...her comment seemed even worse and in poorer taste than Roseanne's. Trump deserves much of what he gets, but his kids? Melania?

The trials and tribulations of the rich and famous, eh?

Having been on ambien, as well as many other medications, all I can say is that I don't think you're right here.

I'm sure there are side effects, like with any drug.

June 1

Normally, I'd love Friday. Friday, it's like my favorite day. I woke up today, happy the work week is over, it was a short week too. I was looking forward to the weekend. And then I find out my husband has been lying to me for a while, about something. I've been married one year, last month, and it hurts to find this out. He has apologized all over himself, but Idk. I have a really hard time with betrayals of trust. More than the normal person, even. Like I just want to vomit when I found this out, today. I likely will get over it, but right now, I'm numb from crying and feel really, really hurt. I don't even know what he wants me to say, I forgive you? I'll get over it? I accept his apology, but I'm not sure I forgive him. Not yet.
