This.

Many Christians seem to believe they can cheat on their spouses, take drugs, steal, and generally live immoral lives all they want, so long as they go to church on Sunday and pray for forgiveness.

Then they start all over again.

But I'm immoral simply because I don't believe in their fairy tales.

Ayup. There's a damned fine line between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Those guys ask for forgiveness but pray for more drugs.

I then mentioned her cross and how her God would not approve of what she is saying. However, she later removed the cross and continued hurling insults. Isn't this just so typical of someone that is only a Christian when it's convenient to them? haha  You either own it or you don't.
My experience has been that when the perosnal insults come out, your argument is having some effect.  That, or their argument can't stand for itself.  I recently had an argument about addiction and my "opponent", after being shown his argument was garbage, proceeded with the personal insults and attempts to discredit me personally.  It's hard to dismiss information from the American Medical Association and the National Institute on Drug Addiction, I was the easier target.

Take the insults as a compliment for your argument.  Then, like Min said, throw a few back for the fun of it.

I have always found this facet of Christianity so riveting. I mean apparently he is a loving God, but if you don't worship him he will dam you to eternal suffering. Now I could be wrong, but that sounds more like an abusive relationship.

A correction on your thought, it is you who chooses the eternal suffering, God has an open invitation to everyone to receive Jesus and salvation. If you refuse then God grants you your choice of eternal suffering.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

I choose for you to take that suffering in my place. Big Grin

In fact, I think you should start bright and early tomorrow morning -- Get a head start on eternity, y'know.
