The Babe died of throat cancer, btw.

The only way I'd smoke camels is with a flamethrower...

Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni:

Wrong. I enjoy much of the current music on offer. Dub-step is just noise.

Lol, double old person thing to say.

Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

This is a true story.

In the 80's my son was down at a friends house and called to say that he had been invited to stay for dinner and was it okay.  Of course we said yes... anything to get him out of the house for a while.

So he came home a couple of hours later and proceeded to tell us about the "cool phone" in Jeremy's house.  He said, it hung on the wall just like ours but instead of buttons it had this big circle thing that you put your finger in and moved.

My wife did not have the heart to tell him that we had one before he was born and we got rid of it in the name of progress!

I of course, did have the heart and told him immediately.

Progress I guess is in the eye of the beholder.

BTW, the avocado green color?  Pure 1970's.

First I've heard of it. Probably a band.

That looks like a Post 1410 Slide Rule. Is the back blank? If it has trig on the back, it is a 1462H Trig SR. I have a Post 1420 and know how to use it. That's what we had back when dinosaurs roamed the earth. In high school, we had a 6 foot long slide rule hanging from the ceiling so that the teacher could show us how to use one.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

@Neo-Scholastic: I was rarely a remote, I was either upstairs or outside as long as I could manage it. TV never appealed to me.

The next question they'll ask is "what's a library?"

Explaining why it was so important to get up early in the morning on Saturday for "Saturday cartoons"

Then spending half an hour playing with the "rabbit Ears" (hopefully while only the test pattern was on) and attaching tin foil balls and/or lines of tin foil from the rabbit ear antennae too different areas of the room, and why it was very important that everybody stay in their same positions while the show was on cause moving screwed up the signal.

Then explaining what a test pattern was and that TV stations turned off at night.

Also static, of the TV kind.
