Business is good

RE: Business is good
Business seems to be doing alright. Problem is too many companies want people to bust their ass for minimal pay. You can't make a living on $12 an hour, last time I checked. Unless you have some skill or education, which, plenty of people don't, companies don't want to pay you shit. It's terrible. A buddy of mine said a roofing company offered him $11 an hour and he has years of experience. Insane. I want to start my own business.
If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth.

The Federal minimum wage here is a complete joke. To think that a family of four, where both parents work, but don't have skills that earn them anything higher than the $7.25 per hour they are entitled to, can survive on that is just pathetic. And then you have people on the right moaning because the working poor get food stamps so their kids can eat. They are accused of being lazy, when truth be told, they have to put higher education aside and take any job they can get so they can keep their families from being homeless. It's a vicious cycle and I don't see our federal government wanting to do anything about it.

Business is good - sure - for those in the position of not worrying about living paycheck to paycheck.

My company as well as our competition are actively raising driver wages to both lure new drivers in and help keep the drivers we have. $1500-$5000 sign on bonuses are not hard to find. Unfortunately no one seems to be doing the same for management yet. Many of my drivers now make more than I do.
