Given the growth in population the WLB got no better response from the base than McCain and Romney got.  Hillary did substantially worse than Obama which is no surprise.  She was hardly an inspirational candidate which seems to be what the Democratic base wanted.  The fact that she was infinitely more competent than the WLB does not seem to enter into the equation anymore.
