Question about caffeine
#21
RE: Question about caffeine
People are casually addicted to caffeine. It's bizarre. But it's socially acceptable so nobody thinks much of it.

"Oh my god I drink 4 cups a day! Can't get through without my cup o' joe hahaha!" It's not cute Karen, you have a substance abuse problem, seek help.

RE: Question about caffeine
My husband is a paramedic and he drinks an entire pot of coffee every day to keep up with his 48 hour shifts.

People can be frequent users without being addicted. And it may be misplaced to focus on coffee. Pop has less caffeine, but people drink more of it, along with all that sugar.

I’m so glad I no longer work ridiculously long shifts.

I don’t drink coffee but I used to drink so much coke when I did those shifts...

RE: Question about caffeine
I used to drink 5 to 6 cups of coffee a day and two or three cokes.
But for the last 12 days I've been on a no sugar, no milk, no bread, no processed food diet and coffee tastes like shit without milk or sugar.
So I've been drinking 5 to 6 cups of black tea a day and I'm enjoying so much that I doubt I'll ever go back.

If you feel that you NEED coffee in order to to about your day, you're dependent.

No doubt that soda is among the worst things you can put in your body.

I'm really sensitive to caffeine and won't have more than a single small coffee in the morning when I get up if I have a busy day ahead. I actually really like coffee now. But because I am so sensitive to it and it does disturb my sleep, I can easily get addicted to it. I notice that it also makes me more nervous as well. Which is a shame because I have been using cannabis to learn to chill out. I find cannabis far less addictive than coffee or alcohol.
