Tipping off Trumply is logically inconsistent with the whole idea of there being organized resistance inside the politburo.

We don't let Christers make errors like that here, we should expecially have  extra scrutiny of folks coming around telling us just what we want to hear.

Um no, this wont be a low level person.

The NYT editorial manager is on par with Woodward and Nixon.

It would be suicide to take that kind of gamble if there is nothing to back it up.

But sinking to the level of telling the flock what they want to hear is a tough argument to refute. And let's not get this backwards, I don't have to prove anything, Woodward and NYT are the ones making the claims.

I badly wish Bob is 100% true and accurate, but I'm infused with a deep suspicion of belief.  Woodward may or may not have vetted his sources appropriately and I have no way of knowing, and just 'believing' him is insufficient, at least for me.

Seems like we went thru this same routine from the play book just a couple weeks ago.  And again, we have something to warm the hearts of the national 'resistance' but AGAIN, nothing to rattle the True Trumply Believers.

When you take into account all the other people who have made comments on his behavior, insiders and outsiders, the picture is clear.

I don't like Omerosa, but she recorded him. I don't like Cohen, but he also recorded him. Woodward the same.

Add to it the fact 50 REPUBLICAN FORMER law agents called him dangerous. Add to that 170 intel agents and diplomats recently demanded he stop attacking his own intel. Joe Walsh and Jeff Flake and former RNC Chair Michael Steel all see the toxic nature of this President.

Why anyone would be surprised that the NYT put out an article claiming an insider is realizing 45 is unfit, is absurd.

If the Royal family telling him he is not invited to a wedding, and Barbra Bush didn't want him at her funeral, and McCain as well. It should be obvious to any sane person, that 45 is not fit for office.

45s behavior is a lot like a murder scene. You might not have been there to see it, but the blood stains, fingerprints and eyewitness testimony overlap.

Note: To the average or even above-average reader outside the Washington-New York bubble, the Times refers to the op-ed as being written by a "senior administration official," which sounds like a cabinet member, or at least someone who interacts with the president on a daily basis. Pretty serious stuff from a high place, right? 

Yet, as everyone from former Hillary Clinton communications director Jennifer Palmieri to the Washington Post's David Nakamura to Fox News's Brit Hume point out in rare bipartisan fashion, "senior administration official" could apply to hundreds and even more than 1,000 people.

So here's the question: Should the Times have narrowed down the actual governmental level of the writer in a way that at least tells the reader if this person was indeed as close to the president as they portray, unintentionally or otherwise? That doesn't, of course, mean giving away obvious clues that would reveal identify. But, as the Post's Nakamura asks, does this person actually work in the White House? The National Security Council? A federal agency? On domestic or foreign affairs? 

As the Post's Dana Milbank pointed out years ago: "The only people who can’t be senior administration officials are the interns." 

Narrowing down the writer's role in the administration to at least a place or department is a fair ask of the Times, which clearly reaps benefits from the ambiguity of "senior administration official." But such ambiguity leads to the kind of dangerous speculation so many see from some quarters of the media on a daily basis, which only leads to increased cynicism about the institution.

The criteria is for someone, anyone, to throw a turd at Trumply and have it exhibit cohesion. Not there yet. Woodward has a shot, hope it works, but we need a name, and it had better not be Pence's third tier speech writer.

Or a janitor, or Omerosa (remember her shot didn't stick either) or the G man (remember him?) How many times do we have to go thru this to realize the goal is to get something to stick?
