His tantrum today should disqualify him if the GOP had any sense of intelligence or integrity. Forget about the assault allegations (which I believe happened) - the guy clearly lacks emotional control, and has essentially removed any sense of impartiality he needs to actually be a member of the SCOTUS. He's a dumpster fire of a candidate, and it doesn't make sense that the GOP is fighting so hard for this particular guy.
The question, I guess, are there any potential male (because conservatives want to get rid of abortion) candidates that don't have similar skeletons in their closets? Seems like the trend is if you're rich, white, and privileged, you've done heinous shit.

Eh. The histrionics may be genuine. He's in a tough spot. But that shouldn't acquit him of the charges.
There's no charges. This is a hearing, not a trial. It's, essentially, part of a glorified job interview. So, yeah, demeanor counts. He's trying to make himself appealing to those with the power to give him the job he wants.

What counts is the credibility of the charges made against him, as he has denied them, and if his denials are not credible but the charges are, that disqualifies him for the supreme court.
