I see you're still willing to completely blame this on the democrats despite the other things that have gone wrong with this nominee and the confirmation hearings.

I guess there really is no level of low that you'll stoop to in order to be right.

What's inaccurate about my statement?

He seems to think that even if these accusations turned out to be true, Kavanaugh shouldn't be blocked from being nominated for something he did yeahs ago in high school and college when 'everyone is young and wild'. Now, to be fair, my dad doesn't condone sexual assault at all, but seems to think that since so many years have passed this is beyond the statute of limitations or whatever. Idk... I dislike this argument lol. If he is proven to have sexually assaulted people back then, he should still face the legal repercussions now.

Personally I think it's highly fishy that this has all come out just as he was nominated. I'm not surprised at the time that has passed between assault and accusation, the whole 'we were ashamed to come forward' argument makes sense, and it could happen. But if the three women were ashamed to come forward, why did they manage to shake it off now? Just as he was nominated? I feel like I definitely believe them, but as a left leaning female I'm biased.

(PS I'm all over the place with this post, I really shouldn't write posts just as I'm about to go to class lol)

Don't take this as a criticism, but you're talking from a position of ignorance here. Now I've never experienced a sexual assault myself either, but I do work with cops who regularly investigate sexual crimes and have had to handle some of the paperwork and it's not at all uncommon if tye victim doesn't disclose for yesrs, even more so if the victim is young when the crime happened.

What isn't?

Oh look; here we have another statement from one of Kavanaugh's drinking buddies. I suppose that because it's a statement, we should accept it as testimony, right AM?

Chad Ludington Statement (found within the article)

Quote:I have been contacted by numerous reporters about Brett Kavanaugh and have not wanted to say anything because I had nothing to contribute about what kind of justice he would be. I knew Brett at Yale because I was a classmate and a varsity basketball player and Brett enjoyed socializing with athletes. Indeed, athletes formed the core of Brett’s social circle.

In recent days I have become deeply troubled by what has been a blatant mischaracterization by Brett himself of his drinking at Yale. When I watched Brett and his wife being interviewed on Fox News on Monday, and when I watched Brett deliver his testimony under oath to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday, I cringed. For the fact is, at Yale, and I can speak to no other times, Brett was a frequent drinker, and a heavy drinker. I know, because, especially in our first two years of college, I often drank with him. On many occasions I heard Brett slur his words and saw him staggering from alcohol consumption, not all of which was beer. When Brett got drunk, he was often belligerent and aggressive. On one of the last occasions I purposely socialized with Brett, I witnessed him respond to a semi-hostile remark, not by defusing the situation, but by throwing his beer in the man’s face and starting a fight that ended with one of our mutual friends in jail.
I do not believe that the heavy drinking or even loutish behavior of an 18- or even 21-year-old should condemn a person for the rest of his life. I would be a hypocrite to think so. However, I have direct and repeated knowledge about his drinking and his disposition while drunk. And I do believe that Brett’s actions as a 53-year-old federal judge matter. If he lied about his past actions on national television, and more especially while speaking under oath in front of the United States Senate, I believe those lies should have consequences. It is truth that is at stake, and I believe that the ability to speak the truth, even when it does not reflect well upon oneself, is a paramount quality we seek in our nation’s most powerful judges.

When did the assault occur?
When did the assault occur? From Rachel Mitchell:

Quote:- In a July 6 text to the Washington Post, she said it happened in the “mid 1980s.”

- In her July 30 letter to Senator Feinstein, she said it happened in the “early 80s.”

- Her August 7 statement to the polygrapher said that it happened one “high school summer in early 80’s,” but she crossed out the word “early” for reasons she did not explain.

- A September 16 Washington Post article reported that Dr. Ford said it happened in the “summer of 1982.”

- Similarly, the September 16 article reported that notes from an individual therapy session in 2013 show her describing the assault as occurring in her “late teens.” But she told the Post and the Committee that she was 15 when the assault allegedly occurred. She has not turned over her therapy records for the Committee to review.

Was it made to The Senate committee, and so a felony if false? If so, sure.

Do you know what 'boofing' and a 'devil's triangle' are? Most of the rest of America does now and they're not at all what Kavanaugh said. And even he doesn't seem to know the rules to a 'drinking game' called 'Devil's Triangle', and apparently neither does anyone else. It was seventies and eighties slang for a threesome with two straight men and one woman, though. Kavanaugh claimed (to a Senate Committee) that the first was a euphemism for farting and the second was a drinking game.

Thinking back to Kavanaugh's copious consumption of fluids as well as that weird thing he kept doing with his tongue, I'm reminded of a popular trial by ordeal among Arab Bedouins. If there was ever conflicting testimony, and you needed to determine who was lying, there was a simple test to determine that fact. What you would do is heat a spoon to red hot in a fire, and each of the accusers would be required to lick the spoon. Whichever accuser burned his tongue was presumed to be the liar. The modern theory of this ordeal is that lying produces an involuntary physiological response that leads to a reduction in the production of saliva in the mouth, and it is the saliva which supposedly protects the victorious accuser's tongue and prevents it being burned. Given that Kavanaugh appeared to have a seriously dry mouth throughout the bulk of the proceedings, I can't help but think that he would have failed this ordeal.

Quote:“You saw a disdain from him in the way he treated the female senators, compared to how he treated the male senators,” Hegar said. “That was distressing to me. This is someone who wants to be on the Supreme Court and deciding issues that relate to women and our freedom.”

Emily’s List President Stephanie Schriock took a similar view. “It was bro-y and elitist, and privilege was oozing out of him, talking to a woman who has been elected by the people of her state,” she said. “To have him treat her like that? That’s not somebody who should be on the court. And Amy did her job.”

Meg Walsh, 57 and a candidate for the Texas Senate, agreed that Klobuchar laid bare who Kavanaugh was.
