The "local" grocery store where we shop will fly them out, but we'll be paying for that. The reservation has both an airport and a lake where pontoon planes land. My wife flew out on one of those for her training. We have been stocking up our pantry each trip when we go shopping. The goal is to not feel like we have to drive off the the reservation any time we're worried about road conditions. We still want the car for being able to drive around the several of the places here.

We ordered some stuff from IKEA, and the furthest out they'd ship is to that town with the stores. The airport will fly it the rest of the way out. So, there are options, but it's costly.

On the plus side, we are spending almost nothing on entertainment and eating out, and rent and utilities are part of my wife's benefit package. We're paying $400 a month Canadian for a two-bedroom place, water, electric, internet, and satellite TV.

Well, that's a hell of a deal.

How close is the nearest medical? Might want to invest in a damn fine first aid setup.
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

There’s a nurse on site. They’ll fly you out for emergencies.

With 'Murrica's marvelous health care system that would cost you about $150,000 per pop.

  • 170km to get groceries?
  • 2km to dump trash (with a bear guarding)?
  • have to be flown to the nearest doc?
  • 140km for shopping?
  • Not even IKEA ships to your location?
  • Anything but a SUV is useless?

Dayum, didnt know Trump was that bad? Hehe
But, seriously, the scenery is awesome.  Great

I can walk 30m or so to dump the trash, but I go down to the dump if I have a lot of meat in the bag. I want the bear to stay over there!

But yeah, my Prime Minister is way better than the President I had. Big Grin

Mostly. I'm looking for a job. For a few weeks, it looked like I was going to go back to where I was before we moved, working remote, but that feel through yesterday afternoon. I have to start posting my resume so I can see if I can find a job at a Canadian company that will allow me to work remote.

Otherwise, I spend a lot of time screwing around on my computer. I picked up a couple of projects to make me feel more productive. I'm working on my own D&D-like RPG and creating a simple math video game for my daughters.
