Mostly. I'm looking for a job. For a few weeks, it looked like I was going to go back to where I was before we moved, working remote, but that feel through yesterday afternoon. I have to start posting my resume so I can see if I can find a job at a Canadian company that will allow me to work remote.

Otherwise, I spend a lot of time screwing around on my computer. I picked up a couple of projects to make me feel more productive. I'm working on my own D&D-like RPG and creating a simple math video game for my daughters.

Has the government OK'ed you to work? When my sister moved to Canada (husband had a job with Shell Oil) they would not give her the OK to work. Or her kids.

Buy a snowmobile yet?
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

I'm a permanent resident of Canada, so it should be fine. They're particularly happy with tech people coming over.

I think it's called a "snowmachine" up here, but no.

I have not been keeping up on this! Sorry, guys!

So, yesterday, I flew into town yesterday to get our insurance cards in order, and picked up some groceries while I was there. I also had the best poutine I've had at this small place near their computer store. I should do this more often. It's only $170 round trip, Canadian, and it costs me $50 in gas just to drive. It probably saves me a net 3 - 5 hours of travel time, which I think is worth the $120 difference.

Anyway, this is the little four-seater flew out in:

I was in the front seat on the way out. Here's a wide shot of the trees and lakes. That's pretty much all it is out here. Pine trees, some birch, and a lot of lakes.

Here's a frozen lake we flew over:

And here's us banking low over the trees on our approach on the way back:

It's not bad, all in all. It was smooth, and only about 35 minutes each way (way better than a 3+ hour drive). It's a bit loud, though, so I just put in some earbuds and listen to EDM the whole way.

I was going through my pictures last week, and realized I took these three days apart in September:

We went for a hike in early November.

The lake I can see from my back windows is actually a little stub of a much larger lake. Directly across from it is the Band Office. We went for a little walk on Sunday, and I took a picture of the back of the house from the Band Office. It's hard to see, but it's a white building that's mostly centered in the frame. On that picture, we're the left unit in the building. The two left-most windows are our's.

At around 3:50, the sun started disappearing behind the trees. Actual sunset that day was 4:33. The girls and I were having fun "skipping stones" on this frozen pond.

The sunsets I never watch because the sun sets before dinner time:

Last month, during the full moon, I went to take the trash out, and saw the moon over the lake. It wasn't as foggy as the picture is making it look. I just had a hard time getting a clear shot with my phone.

The pilot said the plane can carry its own weight, which is about 2,000 pounds. I'm not sure how much they'd allow, but they probably want to factor in 600 - 800 pounds for passengers. They have larger planes, too. There was actually a group of 10 other people heading out with me, and I think the other plane holds 10 people.

I haven't been updating this much. Looking back at the first page, I never posted any pictures of Kakabeka falls (just outside Thunder Bay). We stopped by on our way up in August.

I've had this problem of condensation on the window freezing at the bottom before, but this is the worst.

It's about -32C outside right now, which explains why there's so much. I also learned a valuable lesson today: don't try to fix this with a hair dryer. It looks like I get to pay to replace a window, now... Undecided At least it's double pane.

RE: My big adventure
Rob, you just need to let the condensation do its thing. I grew up in a large farmhouse in which we only heated the living room with a wood stove during the winter. My bedroom was as far from the heated part of the house as you could get. The windows in my bedroom would accumulate super thick layers of condensation with beautiful crystal patterns. I couldn't see out of my windows all winter long. There is no way that I could have removed the condensation. And even if I had, it would have come right back.

Edit because I realized you already said you were getting double pane.
We do not inherit the world from our parents. We borrow it from our children.
