Do we have vegans here?

My convictions are too strong.

The common theme among happy vegans I have seen is the use of supplements. Low price supplements have artificial sources, so it's not that simple with supplements either.

Yes, I take supplements to be sure I'm getting everything I need. It's quite possible not to have to do this, but annoyingly I find a lot of the very healthy veg disgusting. Green stuff, yuck.

I was anaemic before I became vegan(ish). So I started eating more meat and that helped cause my first attack of MS.

There are many diseases of affluence though caused by a western diet that you don't have to worry about when you go vegan.

So given a choice of cardiovascular disease, multiple sclerosis, obesity and increased cancer rates,  or anaemia? I'll take the latter thanks.

Do you eat organic? It said to have more nutrition and less chemicals shit in it.

@Mathilda: Yup, I don't have to worry about salmonella, high cholesterol, MCD and all kinds of shit from undercooked meat either.

Of course it has to be done sensibly, like any diet. I don't know why a lot of people assume vegans must be complete idiots who give no thought to it. Some of them are, probably, but not most.

It's becoming seriously trendy here in England now, I can finally sit down and have a proper meal in many restaurants. It's no longer a dirty word.

@Purple: Partly organic, when we can find/afford it.

I eat mostly vegan. No meat at all and I don't use dairy in my regular day-to-day life.

Seems okay.

I just asked the voices and they all agree with me.  Thumb up

@Purple: It seems like you're trying to correlate veganism with mental health; why would that be?

I don’t want to answer for purple, but it seems to me like they’re interested in becoming vegan but worried about possible ramifications to their physical and mental health.

@purple, I know several vegans who seem quite healthy. They do take supplements though.

I have no problem with vegetarianism or veganism, I think both are commendable. It’s not for me though. I don’t like people who try to convince vegetarians/vegans that they’re wrong for eating the way they do. And I don’t like people who try to convince me that I’m a horrible monster for eating the way I do. This goes for mostly everything not just the way we eat, people should mind their own business.
