Went back to the doctor today

The doctor said the ankle and foot shouldn't have still been as swollen as it was after a week. More x-rays were done on the right foot.
Apparently, I have a fracture of the distal tibia. Now I need a Cat Scan, which I'm getting Tuesday morning. That will determine if I need a cast or surgery.
I'm going to be missing a lot more work because I cannot bear any weight on the right foot.

Not unexpected. Baseball players hit foul balls into their feet or legs on a regular basis. If they get up and shake it off that's fine. If they are limping around and have to leave the game you wait for the inevitable announcement of the results of the x-rays. But sometimes the fracture is not detected right away for reasons that only a radiologist could probably explain. Those guys end up on the disabled list for quite a while. Eventually they do a CAT scan and find the fracture. Then the issue becomes if it is a displaced or non displaced fracture. If displaced, have the surgery or it will cause you problems in 10-15 years.

I know how it is. It sux.
I' e got 3 plates and a shitload of screws to prove it.
It might seem hard to stay off it now - but don't push - get it fixed and heal up - or it could be a bitch to walk the rest of your life.
