History is full of ironies, but one thing that I cannot understand is why the Red Team just did not ditch Kavanaugh and find another right-wing nutjob to be the next SCOTUS associate justice? Maybe Kavanaugh will take his known imperfections and lies to the SCOTUS, and upon reflection, will have a change of heart about some things?? In realizing that he was not perfect, maybe that will make him into a more compassionate SCOTUS jurist??

Maybe Kavanaugh will be the next liberal SCOTUS judge??

No, it's a myth that people are capable of change.

He thinks presidents are above the law. You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid. Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis. RE: Maybe Kavanaugh will be the next liberal SCOTUS judge??

Because of the upcoming elections. This controversy is a perfect issue to rally conservative voters around, while also taking some of the attention away from Trumpface. Drunk jurisprudence ftw!

My take is more like 50/50.
I'd like to think I was one of the earlier ones to note the possibility Kavanaugh might be another Souter.
I note Collins made an even better case for it than I did. Hell, Collins could be on the court at this point, I'd support her. The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Brett the Drunk is more likely to be the next Roland Friesler* than the next David Souter.
