Really? Even more good than Muslims? Are Christians better as people than Muslims? Only God can be the judge of who is really good, but I believe God sent us Jesus as our very best teacher. Islam is just copy cat religion, and Christians are doing much more good in the world from what I can see, and unless you can provide research that shows anything to the contrary, I am sticking with that. We have cut the starvation problem in the world more than in half. We shelter and feed homeless people, give free counseling to people who are grieving loved ones, give aid to needy families, fund programs that bring clean drinking water and medical assistance to those in need, help people get off drugs and start their lives over again, and the list just goes on and on.

Did you read it, ? I suspect you simply read the title from that reply, it does fit very well with what we know about the universe.
Now this is very important.. How can i tell the difference between faith and no god at all ?
Quote:I did, but what I am having a hard time understanding is how can you accept that as your explanation for the existence of life and everything else that exists on this planet.
Simple, it fits the universe as we see it, for sure there is more to know, more to learn. It is one of many plausible explanations that fit the world as we see it.
Quote:There is evidence of something with a greater mind than human practically everywhere you look,
Really why would you assume that ?
Quote:and then there is the fact of life itself. I guess the difference between us is that I see the absolute necessity for God everywhere I look,
Oh, I understand what you believe I'm not questioning that you believe it, I'm just wondering why.
Quote:and you see something you believe can just happen randomly out of the blue.
What do you mean by 'out of the blue' , couldn't the big bang simply have been a stage in a process already happening ?
I see lots of events taking place one after another, no one believes the universe simply appeared as it is, outside of theistic belief. As I understand it the universe is continually changing, and there is heaps of evidence to show that, humans are changing too as has been evidenced by the past, we likely shall not be the same in a million years, and may even look very different.
In about 5 billion years (just a little longer than the earth has already existed) our sun will destroy it, that's if we don't get wiped out by disease, asteroid hit or some other disaster before then. The earth has been very hostile to life in the past and present and will likely be in the future, hardly the works of a perfect god.
Quote:I have a hard time wrapping my mind around what you believe, and how you are able to believe it.
It's simple, follow the evidence (like evolution) as see where it leads you, don't pre-suppose a deity

Angelina,
You are Ignorance on Parade. Go out to the Google Play Store or iTunes and download "Audible". Setup your free account in minutes and then do a search on "The Great Courses". Download your first course for free and one per month for $14.95. I would suggest starting with the New Testament course by Professor Bart Ehrman. You might want to move on to the "Big Bang and the Rise of Humanity" class after that. Also, the book "Dot, Dot, Dot...Infinity plus God equal folly" will help you understand some issues in cosmology that you seem to be struggling with.
Best,
Dawn

No one is doubting that some christians do good things, the scepticism comes from your comment that christianity has done the world a big favour.
For instance, lets take aside all the instances of child abuse, wars, crusades, slave owning, money hoarding..etc. (we can come back to those) and just lets concentrate on one you made a big point of .. hunger. If christians truly believed they should give to the poor, and that god would bless them in return, then why are thousands of your brothers and sister starving to death in some of these countries ?
Remember these claims are the mainstay of your religion, and central to the teachings of the one you call christ.

I also recommend ''How Jesus became god'' by Bart Ehrman.

As I said, put up or shut up. You keep yappin, yet you've managed to back none of your words. Tis boring. Really, all you do is bounce around these forums telling people they are wrong, yet you fail to contribute an original thought.

What do you want us to disprove? That a race of talking donkeys on a planet in orbit about Proxima Centauri do not exist?
