RE: There's no way he's straight
This thread was meant as a joke.

Because of how I intently study people and because it is sort of an ongoing game my boyfriend and I play when we watch television.

He'll say, "Oh, that guy's gay."
My response, "You just want him to be."

And vice versa.

But honestly, I do study guys, more than girls obviously, and I do sometimes see a guy on television who just dings my gaydar real hard.  I tend to do research online to see if he is gay.  When I find out he identifies as straight, has a girlfriend, has a wife, I tend to purposefully and humorously go into cognitive dissonance mode whereby I state to myself, "Oh, he's really gay and he likes dick on the side".

Yeah, I took this thread as a joke/game, since a similar thing happens when I go out with a particular one of my gay friends; his gaydar goes into overdrive... but if it were accurate it would mean the usual ratios of gay people in the world had changed from about one in ten to nine in ten... so pretty sure it's wishful thinking Wink... but still a fun and positive mindset to be in for a gay night out, so I wouldn't have it any other way from him, but my own gaydar is much less sensitive Wink

The only time I would " accuse" someone of being gay - is when they make a habit of gay bashing - or try to pretend they don' t have sex with their spouse because they say -"sex is only for procreation".

That kind of closeting needs fucking with.....

Generally I don't think of it that way; though I'm sure there are some cases of overcompensation/'the lady doth protest too much', it's not my default assumption to assume that all homophobia stems from latent homosexual feelings/insecurities. But yeah, I see where you're coming from.

True - it' s just my personal experience - but so far it' s pretty spot on.

There' s no hate like self- hate......

I used to have an apartment on Miami Beach, Biscayne Blvd. I worked out and dressed sharp. People used to say "No way you're straight!" I didn't argue with them, it wasn't important to me.

Classically "good looking" guys often get labelled as and called gay - possibly 'cos the "ugly" straight guys doing the labelling can't handle the thought of their personal relative lack of sex appeal.

Every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp-dressed man" -ZZTop. Those women who like a sharp dressed-man, and those who think said man is gay and want to "convert" them usually provide the same sort of horizontal refreshments. Naughty
