"Luxury" tiny houses

RE: "Luxury" tiny houses
I'm sure those tiny houses are feasible, as long as you attach 10 or 12 of them together.

I wonder if the lack of hard hats, gloves, etc., are just for when the show is shooting and that once the scene is done, the protective equipment comes back on.

I remember when lots of real estate/remodeling shows were pushing open-plan McMansions with cavernous "great rooms" taking up pretty much the entire ground floor, and my thought was always about how much it would cost to heat or cool the space, and also wondering what is so terrible about interior walls.

An entire gated community of failed McMansions does have a special glow about it.

It doesn’t count when you make space for yourself in alternative ways like getting in your fucking car or buying a plane ticket and you’re off to destination B. And C, D, and E...

Try living small when you don’t have money for a dependable car and gas and you can’t afford to eat out.

Yep, at the end of one of those episodes when they do a caption about where they are after picking up their tiny house, the couple was "living in their tiny house, in her sister's back yard, saving for their trip to Paris."  I just betcha they spend the majority of their "at home" time each day "visiting" her sister in HER house.

Yep, I would un-cut the cable cord to watch the "where are they, years later?" show.  I'm betting that the smaller the house, the higher the incidence of divorce.  I'm also convinced that the people who really want to park these on their own land and stay there (and there were some) will have massive outbuildings for their "art" and "music studios" and STORAGE.

I wondered about the lack of safety equipment being for "show" too, but then, other construction shows make a point of showing safe building practices.  They are putting themselves on tape that can be used as proof for OSHA to show that they raised a wall without hard hats, sanded and sawed without mask and safety glasses, etc.

And I love the ones that "had to have" a guest bedroom (translation, another loft where you can't sit up in bed).  If I'm your guest, come second night I'm in a hotel.  And you can come visit me there.

And I forgot to mention that in these tiny houses, the door opens inward.  WTF?  So if you want to leave the door open to let some air in/the dog out/smells out you gotta waste wall space for the friggin door to stay open.  Not to mention, it makes it easier for an intruder to kick the door in when it swings in instead of out.
Where are we going and why am I in this hand basket?

I had never seen this before so I just watched one on YouTube. They’re just cleaned up trailers lol. Except trailers are at least designed to allow you to be comfortable with what you got. The trailers I’ve been in you can stand up to go piss at night even if the mattress is on the floor. I can’t wake up about to piss myself and bump my fucking head. That’s stupid af. And like where the fuck am I gonna drink my Budweiser when there’s a little spiral staircase where my fucking la-z-boy goes? Goddamn, I get it if you can’t afford space but if you can’t take a load off after work what’s the fucking point? I can’t be fucking with moving shit around so I can cook and eat and all that. That’s some seriously stupid ass shit. You’d get your ass beat hard at the trailer park and rightfully so.

I can't even imagine these people who own RVs.  That would be too much togetherness for us.

On the plus side, if you forced hoarders to live in tiny houses like this, fo sho you'd cure their hoarding tendencies.

amirite?

With kids it would be fucking torture. With just the person you fuck and a dog- I wish I could afford an RV.

I lived in a 420 SF house for 14 years. I loved that house and was so happy there. But as soon as I met my husband, I moved out. Too small for two people.

It was actually too small for one person and a cat. But there is comfort in having a tiny house. I can't really explain why.

It won’t let me. I might not be big time enough to rep a mofo yet.

All I need is a mattress a toilet and a sink. And AC. I don’t really need to do anything at home that’s not horizontal besides walking to the toilet. For real.
