RE: vorlon13
Wow!! That's absolutely horrible! I had no idea he was sick. Oh man, I'm really going to miss him. He was one of my closest pals here.

I remember when I first saw his posts he was talking about blowjobs and I thought "what a brave woman talking openly about sex like that" and then I realized he was a guy.

What else to say but RIP vorlorn and I'm really going to miss you. You were GREAT!!!
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

RE: vorlon13
As with any 'death day', when I heard Vorlong had passed my immediate reaction was to reflect again on how transitory is our time here.  This time is all we get and all there will be.  That's why it is important to reflect on what really matters and to do that stuff instead.  Some people think atheists are unprincipled reprobates but really no one should be more motivated than ourselves to steer toward the meaningful.

Didn't see eye to eye with him politically but boy was he a good model for how to hold a disagreement.  I will miss all the fun I had with Vorlon.  If somehow I missed something and there really is an after life I hope his includes plenty of bears.

I'm very saddened to have learned about this. Vorlon was a fantastic member of this community and one of the funniest individuals I've ever come across.

RIP Vorlie.

I don't think I ever had the chance to speak to Vorlon, but it sounds like he was well liked here.

Condolences to all his friends here, and friends/family elsewhere in the world

I'm finding that not a day goes by that I don't think of him, multiple times.

It's not as fun here right now, but he wouldn't want staff to bail, so I'm here. Everyday.

I’ve been thinking about him a lot too. Like, way more than I ever would have predicted about someone who I only knew by a user name. It’s strange how people can affect you in ways you aren’t even consciously aware of.

Yeah me too. Suffice to say he leaves a hole in us that can never be filled. I know he would like the phrasing. Sad
