Pretty much all of them.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

That's fine, tack. I just don't see where you're going with this.

I'm not headed towards anything I just saw some ranting about "tard babies" on a different site and I wanted to see if people had ideas about

is letting a baby exist that has no goal or potential other than mere existence worth having?
Should doctors encourage abortions?
Should anyone's sole purpose be to exist and does that qualify them as productive members of society?
Are there goals theist, atheist, moral absolutist, right winger, etc. that are common ground for all groups in our species?
Is there enough societal push towards those goals... I'd probably save that for another thread though..

idk, just thoughts, no master plan. I think I'm gonna agree with Gae's posts on this pretty much all of them are better than just existing butthere should be some that are species universal we could come up with.

That gets into ethics and meaning, and that's a whole nother ball of wax.

ok then I'll save the phiosophy for a different thread. What about just some universal goals as a species like

-Passing knowledge to offspring is better than just breeding
-Overcoming hardships is inspiration to a society and guides social constructs better than just genetic adaptation
-Increasing life expectancy is good if it's not a burden to the environment the species exists in
-The perfect Rueben is still better than sex

I'm still wondering about the "removal of emotional pain" reference.

And I also question regarding doctors encouraging abortion. Do you have examples?
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

"Knowledge" to theists is simply passing down social norms. That is not the same "knowledge" of the speed of light.

I have knowledge of Santa, but so what.

All I know is that most people don't give a fuck about quality of life when their life's at stake.
