The usefulness of allowing a person you expected to lie, whose lawyers were clearly serving the purpose of coordination with the whitehouse, to give you an opportunity to test a theory about the denizens of the whitehouse.  

Now, we don't know if..."coincidentally" the same known lies manafort told are on the presidents written answers.  Mueller, however, does, if they are -and- if they aren't, that's one theory tested.  That lying in this arrangement frees the government of all obligation and frees the other party from none...it seems like a no brainer.  Nothing to lose, everything to gain, regardless. Does the turn of events immediately after the pres gave his written answers, paully was thrown under the bus, a cohen signed onto agreement suggest that something relevant was found? Hard yes, imo.

Obstruction is small potatoes, compared with whats come to light. That's another thing I find amusing. We appointed a special council thinking that maybe the russians had done some hinky stuff, played some americans, and those americans tried to cover it up out of embarrassment or exposure. Turns out that this supposition, again..seemingly... was mickey mouse shit.

Not sure how that's going to play when the whole corrupt foreign practices act rears it's ugly head...or the vast network of money laundering for sanctioned institutions and individuals, trumps Real Business, is laying out there in plain sight of all.

Just how much crime, and with whom, does a person have to get into before the party of law and order deems them to be sufficiently criminal?

I don't know how much or with whom, but I can tell you when.

It will be about two minutes after the party leaders in the Senate hold their fingers in the air and realize the wind is definitely not trending in their direction and there will be electoral hell to pay if they don't cut Trump loose.

Which, like with Nixon will happen about six months after it's too late for them to gain any political capital from a reverse ferret.
