The pound of feathers is heavier, because gold is measured in Troy ounces, in which a pound is the same as 12 ounces in the Avoirdupois system, where a pound is 16 oz. Thanks for inviting me, but this is only a "knowledge" question, not a "figuring out" question.

I used the luxury resort thing because way back when (about age 18), and shortly after I got out of high school, I did a door-to-door gig where we sold vacuums and the vacation bit was part of one of the pitches we used to show the product.  I really hated that job.

But hey, if you're ever in NC, I owe you Bojangles. Well played.
