He left a goodbye letter, telling it was all his wife's fault, in the car, where the cops found his baby daughter asphixiated by his own hands, in the trunk.

The fucking coward not only did that, but blame it all on the family that took him, mostly his estranged wife, before killing himself like the true coward he  was.

Some crimes go unpunished....

I have thought the part I bolded to be true.  Since my daughter's best friend was murdered by her husband before he shot himself he was unpunished but the kids and the families still suffer every day.  Thankfully he didn't kill the child who was home at the time but she was in the house where both her parents' lives were ended.  The mysterious 'they' don't think she saw anything.

It's fucked up...

My condolences to you and your wife and others feeling the loss.

2 Kings 2:23–24 “And he [Elisha] went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.”

I see you care nothing or hope, but that's okay or the One you have mocked will be your judge, you should think on that very seriously. The verses you gave says nothing of God, Elisha nor the bears killing any children, they were mauled.

It's people like you who make xtianity look worse. Coming in and preaching when you KNOW that the person affected is an atheist. Have you NO shame!?

He's the one spouting out verses like he knows something, I on the other hand corrected his mistaken understanding of the scriptures. No I am not ashamed of spreading the word of God and will gladly do it here and everywhere else.

Here is another translation which suggests the children were killed.

From there Elisha went up to Bethel.  While he was on his way, some small boys came out of the city and jeered at him.  “Go up baldhead,” they shouted, “go up baldhead!”  The prophet turned and saw them, and he cursed them in the name of the Lord.  Then two shebears came out of the woods and tore forty two of the children to pieces. (2 Kings 2:23-24 NAB)

And here also you appear to not be connecting the curse with the bear attack. Which I must say would be my position as well, curses work just as well as prayers i.e. not at all.

You used the word "suggests" which means that you have doubts. I have none, the boys did not die, the verses are proof of that, if they had the verses would have said they were killed. The curse is plainly applied in my response, you are grabbing at straws.

FM started this derail and the rest of you have jumped on board, there was no good reason for FM to reply to my post to start with, so yes we all should stop.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

You're just being desperate again GC. Some Bibles have translations that they were tore down in pieces and yet you claim they were "just" mauled and therefore survived as if people can survive being mauled by bears without modern medicine--and even then it's very hard.

So you just want to crap all over the forum without any consequence. There was no reason for you to demean this topic with your primitive beliefs.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Give it a rest, it isn't time for this kind of discussions.

Anyway, the post mortem indicates that the mofo drugged the 2 1/2 baby and strangled her with a piece of clothing Sad The mother in law had her thrat slit...

Going to the funeral now. The mother needs support. In homage she requested people to bring a pink balloon and Minnie mouse shirt, if available.

Regarding my use of the word "suggests" I am always open to the (extremely unlikely) possibility that I am wrong. It is a much more healthy way to view facts, as something could come along and upset what you believe to be true.

However theists do not have that luxury, they have to believe really really, hard absolutely utter non-sense.

The bible quotes do not say the boys survived the mauling by the bear and showed you a translation that included the phrase "to pieces". If someone is described as being in pieces the expectation is that they died either immediately or in the near future, especially at a time when the most advanced medicine they had was hoping everything would be ok.

Interestingly if one bible translation implies death and another does not then this means that the bible is prone to mistranslation over time which throws every aspect of the religion into doubt.

And also in this story god uses what is essentially a prayer as an offensive weapon. But lets look at the logistics here. There were two bears in the immediate vicinity of the children at that moment. If a bear is close then a bear attack is quite likely so instead of saying he cursed them and a bear attacked you could just say a bear attacked and the curse be zero to do with it.

Correlation does not imply causation.

What a painful experience. I have carried coffins of my grandparents, even friends that had untimely deaths. That little coffin was the heaviest that I have carried.

Well, that is what you believe in. I don't as you know. He has escaped by means of a gun he stole from his dad's. He couldn't stand 25 years (max penalty here) in prison. I am sure he would be made short work of, in there. Now, he feels no more, he has no mind to suffer for the realization of what he did.

We need to revise the justice action in domestic violence cases. From the beggining of the year, 9 women were murdered in domestic violence here in Portugal. Its bad. We need to rock the boat.

I don't understand what makes these men so angry that they have to wipe out entire families to get their vengeance against their ex-wives/girlfriends.
Especially the men who kill their own children. It's truly disgusting.

And the most fucked up thing is they see themselves as the victims.

I am sorry Sad
That poor family.
