No one accused you of denying diversity.

Quote:It is a matter of logic.

I don't see how.  You want people to say, 'Currently, I am a Muslim' but are fine with them saying, 'I am a human being.'

Quote:I accept that humans attribute "who they are" to what they claim. I simply doubt depending on the claim, where they think what "makes me, me" is really coming from.

When someone says, "that makes me who I am", it only means that is what they are used to and comfortable with, but it doesn't make everything they claim true by default.

I'm not sure I understand you. If you are doubting the truth of someone's religion when they say, 'I am a Christian', I'm with you.  But 'I am a Christian' isn't about whether the Christian religion is true, it is a statement indicating the speak believes it to be true.  There's nothing wrong with that.

Quote:I also say, "I am a poet", when in reality all I am really saying is " I like writing poetry".

If you write poetry, you're a poet.  That's what 'poet' means.

Quote:Grass and bacteria and cockroaches don't write poetry and still managed to evolve. That isn't saying we should end poetry. It is simply a matter of putting it in proper context.

I am not poetry, poetry is simply something I am into.

I'm now thoroughly confused.  Thank you.

"Poet" is what I do, it is not a genetic or blood issue. There are lots of other humans who do not write poetry.

Identifying yourself as 'I am a poet' isn't supposed to be a 'genetic or blood' issue.

I'm still unsure as to why you object to people saying, 'I am a Christian' or 'I am a Hindu'.  I get that this isn't all they are, but so what?

I sometimes try to live my life according to some religious philosophy

I sometimes live my life without any religious philosophy

"Sometimes" "I am not always" "I am sometimes"

BINGO, which means our positions have the possibility of shifting, and really have nothing to do with our blood or genes.

Positions are what we hold, actions are what we do, but what has never changed is that regardless of the positions we hold or the actions we do, we are not a separate species.

But why does an 'I am' statement need to have ANYTHING to do with blood or genes?  Unless your 'I am' is followed by a species identification, it's bloody silly to attempt to restrict it to that.  Again, it doesn't indicate a permanent state.  If I say, 'I am 49 years old' [sod you, IWNKAAIMI], no one is going to conclude that I have always been that age, or that I will always be that age.
