PSA: Hate Speech

Due to recent events, the staff have decided to prohibit the use of slurs with the following rule:
Quote:The use of slurs targeting race, gender, sex, and sexual orientation are prohibited. An exception will be made if the slur itself is being discussed, however even in these cases, members should censor the slur using asterisks (e.g. f*ggot) or some other reference (e.g. the n word).

It's a pity we've had to resort to a rule on this. I've deliberately stayed out of the conversations because these slurs are something I find truly vile and I'd likely get pissed off and say something that would get me banned.
Better, I think, to rub the naughty kids' noses in it.

You understand that, to a non native speaker, the boundary between a slur and a merely offensive word is very fuzzy, right?
According to the rule, "retard" would not be covered as a slur... Does not target race, gender, sex nor sexual orientation... but it has triggered Joods in the past.
And what are gender or sex related slurs?
I really can't think of a word for these, but maybe it's because it still early and I'm sleep waking.
The asterisks are stupid, imo.

I’m going to have to return for one post only, one final time, to say that this is the stupidest thing I can imagine. If I hadn’t already decided to leave forever, this would have prompted me to anyway. Finally we have blaspheme laws for atheists. Screw context or real consequences, we must protect people from seeing certain arrangements of letters.
Well, it’s very fitting for the wave of censorship the establishment is bringing down worldwide. Everything is going to shit, and it’s really sad to see this place I once loved embracing that.
