2000 year old shoe
Someone threw a shoe in the well in Roman fort 2000 years ago and now it's in a mint condition.

I guess it is a little bit creepy how shoes didn't change that much in 2000 years.

Given how little feet have changed over the millenia, there are only so many things that can be done to the appearance of a shoe. I'm not the least bit surprised. Now, let's see if a platform sole gets unearthed. Big Grin

My, such ornate detail.
Very nice.

Payless should knock of the design and start a new Well Roamin' line.

My wife's (probable) reaction:  'Do they come in burgundy?'

Why should it be?  Feet haven't changed that much in 2000 years.  In fact (and I could be wrong), the last big advance in basic shoe design was sometime after 1850, when the whole left/right thing came about.

The modern version will be made out of dacron, vinyl, polyester and PTFE - in a Chinese sweatshop - and will fall apart after two weeks of use.

Progress -huh?
