PSA - Reports
Lately, we'd been seeing an uptick in reports where no rules have been broken.  PLEASE cite an actual rule in your report.  If you can't find a rule that covers what you're reporting, don't make the report.  We do not take action against people that have broken no rules. And remember - abuse of the reporting system counts as a violation of the Rules.

Thanks in advance.

RE: PSA - Reports
Thank you for informing us. Would I be overstepping my bounds if I pointed out to anyone trying this that the rules are in the top left corner just below the logo (presuming you're not in mobile mode, in which case, there's a "Switch to Full Version" link at the very bottom of each page) and that there is therefore little to no excuse one can have for reporting people for not actually breaking a rule?

Not overstepping at all.  In fact, it might prove helpful.  Thanks.

I'm curious. I have only ever reported obvious socks/spambots. Even those only occassionally. What is the general nature of such reports if you can share that info?

Socking and spambotting reports are fine, but we are getting complaints about using bad language (in the body of a post, not the titles), name calling, hurting peoples' feelings, etc.  This is a problem because it's rare that the mods and the admins are all here at the same time, and a vote is always taken about what to do, if anything.

In short, it's problematic enough for us to deal with legitimate complaints.  It's kind of a time-waster to have to evaluate the frivolous ones.

OK. As I thought, special snowflakes complaining that the universe does not rotate about them. Carry on.

Not so much that as it is people coming here from other boards and aren't familiar with AF rules.  No need to be insulting.

For what it's worth, I personally agree with some of these complaints.
