Music remakes you think better than original

RE: Music remakes you think better than original
I didn't like Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt. YMMV.

The original was great, but Tony Thompson's drumming pushes this one to the top.

And the original, which is pretty damn hot to start with:

Don't know him either, blame google.

Oh, I wasn't blaming you.

Every Led Zeppelin song that was a remake (they basically ripped off a load of old blues music for the most part, lyrics included sometimes) they were better than the originals in every circumstance I can think of.

This video is pretty long but you can skip along it to get the idea.

Jimmy Hendrix all along the watchtower is typical one people usually bring up and I agree that his version is better than Bob Dylan's.

Travis Does a good Brittany Spears cover.

Natalie Imbrugla, "Torn" is better than the original.

I think I like Thin Lizzy's version of Whiskey In The Jar more than Metallica's which is still a cover of an earlier version.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

'City of New Orleans'.

This is a fantastic song, and I like both versions.  That being said, Willie Nelson's voice seems to me to be more suited to this type of music.
