PSA: New Rule
July 19, 2019 at 1:18 pm
(This post was last modified: July 19, 2019 at 1:18 pm by BrianSoddingBoru4.)
The following has been added to the Rules:
Quote:Sexual Harassment is not allowed. We consider sexual harassment to be any unsolicited comments of a sexual nature directed towards another member. While we are cognizant that a certain amount of flirting goes on in the forums, harassment will not be tolerated and will result in a permanent ban.
This seems pretty clear and straightforward. Any questions, please ask.

Awww shit.
I take it that someone would have to complain. Or is it down to the staff to make a judgement?
Someone once said he'd like to lick my nipples. I'm not arsed, but would the staff be?

I'm just waiting for someone to find a way to complain about this one.

I think "unsolicited AND UNAPPRECIATED" would be a clearer (but only slightly less concise) wording. It draws a clearer line between playful and consensual flirting and harassment.

Hmmm yeah, if the receiving end says stahp, should be straightfoward enough.

It depends. If any user feels uncomfortable, they can report the offending post in the usual way and the staff will discuss it. If it's egregious enough, I'm perfectly prepared to ban the offender without further warning.

I'm pretty sure everyone here can tell the difference between those two. We're not looking to ban anyone for playful banter. But, for instance, when the person on the receiving end says, 'Ew, please stop', that's pretty clear.
I'd type more but I've got a stinging sensation on me bum to deal with...
