Well, since were including music we don't like:

If I were driving along and a country music song started vomiting itself from my radio speakers, I'd sell the car.  If I couldn't sell it, I would burn it for being an accessory after the fact to crimes against humanity.

Love Jazz (but not the random noodling you sometimes get... music should have a tune), Rock, some Classical
I don't consider ©Rap to be music
Cuntry music makes me want to hit things!

"We have both kinds of music- Country AND Western!"- waitress in the Blues Brothers movie. Yeah, they didn't think either of them were music, either.

RE: Arguments against Jazz
I'm not for or against Jazz because I consider all music genre have the right to exist.
I'm not a Jazz fan but I know Jazz music have many subgenres (Bepop , Big band , Free jazz etc...).

Subgenres of Jazz have also subgenres. For example Hard bop is a descendant of Bepop.
Jazz itself is a blend of many music genre like Blues , Ragtime , Folk etc...
One ascendant of ragtime is cakewalk born before the end of slaving in USA.
No ragtime without cakewalk. No jazz without ragtime.

All music genre are tied directly or indirectly to others.
Each music genre appear in a cultural , social , political and economic context.
As each music genre influence directly or indirectly others.
It does means than some music genre would never exist if some events did never happened.
For example if slaving of black people in USA did never happened cakewalk would never existed then ragtime would never exist etc...

When you understand all music genre appear in a particular historical context you understand the lives of each others is indirectly tied.
Imagine a man and a woman meeting themselves in a bar that is playing Jazz and make a child together.
If slaving of black people in USA did never happened cakewalk would never exist and ragtime too and therefore jazz would never exist.
If jazz did never existed maybe this couple would never meet together and consequently they haven't a child together.

RE: Arguments against Jazz
I like a lot of styles of music. Certain artists or songs from just about every genre. Jazz isn't something I have ever really invested much time in. It may be because I haven't heard any that really drew me in.

I like blues, 70s rock, (the more guitar driven the better), some of the 60s folk music, outlaw country, EDM, Motown, some rap and hip hop...I am pretty open when it comes to music. My playlist on Pandora is rather eclectic. When I set it to play on 'random' my husband says it's a little too random for him.

My one son I share music with says the same thing. I have stuff all the way from Anthrax to ZZTop.

RE: Arguments against Jazz
Every time I have tried listening to jazz, I find another reason to hate it.

I honestly don’t think I’ve ever heard any jazz that I have liked.

I’m not much of a fan of country music but I have to admit a liking for Kenny Rogers.
