A few years ago my commute took me past a bus stop where there was often a woman in one of the burqas that has the screen-like covering over the eyes. (My apologies for not knowing the precise name.) I am used to seeing women wearing a hijab around this area but that woman was the only one I have seen in my 14 years in this area wearing total covering.

A few years ago I was Christmas shopping with a friend at one of the big (for NZ) department stores. I was in the queue to pay for my stuff and the woman right at the front of the line was dressed in one of those long, black things that hide everything but the eyes.

I said to my friend in a whisper, "It must be busy, even the ninjas are shopping."

Another poor woman next to me heard and cracked up.

I once went and looked at a vehicle for purchase that was in a mountainous area. When we got there, I commented that it was a fairly high elevation. The seller exclaimed, "We're closer to god up here!". I'm pretty certain that my reply that, "No matter where you are, you are the same distance from (a) god" went right by him. We ended up not buying it. It wasn't obvious from the picture, but the yard where it had been parked had flooded more than once because of the terrain. and the frame of the poor thing was on the ground, as the tires had sunk into the mud. The gal's claim as to how it had been "Her baby" were laughable. That thing was a rot box of rust. If they were "closer to god" there, what did they think when the earth spun? Crazy shit the religious say.

Yeah, "the crazy shit religious people say". Listen to any priest for few minutes and you'll realize that he believes a word is a fairytale.

I mean talking about flood, here's a video where a woman asks a priest if COVID-19 was sent by virgin Mary and God as punishment for sins, to which he starts saying how he's not sure because when New Orleans was flooded many people said it was God punishing it for Mardi Gras, but, he notes, the most sinful places like bars and striptease clubs were spared so "it's hard to say"

Let's say I was selling shampoo, and a really enthusiastic customer called into my infomercial to claim that my shampoo cured her cancer. I wouldn't want to be seen making that claim myself, but I also wouldn't want to be seen rejecting the claim once made.

That's what "It's hard to say" is. The witchdoctor doesn't believe the statement, but it's on-brand.
