Rambo: Last Blood (what were you thinking Stallone?)

Quote: Sly doesn't really do moral complexity

How can you even think this, let alone say it?  You're ignoring the cinematic masterpieces 'Rhinestone' and 'Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot!'.

Stallone is reportedly worth around US$400 million.  I don't think it's a money thing.

I was taught to never underestimate human greed.

And I was taught to never underestimate the human ego.

Ah yes, but without money, no way to fuel such big egos.

That's the point: he HAS the money, he doesn't NEED the money.  He can afford to feed his ego by making pictures that LOSE money.

Budget for 'Last Blood':  US$50 million

Worldwide gross for 'Last Blood': US$48 million (as a rule of thumb, a film has to gross 1.5X its production budget to break even)

It is his self respect as a decorated veteran who fought for his country in the movies.

And before that, it was his dream to show people what he imagines boxing is like.

And before that what it was like to feed his family by breaking legs for the loan sharks.
