The Long Walk

The Long Walk
The Long Walk by Stephen King (Richard Bachman) is FINALLY going to be made as a movie.

It's one of my favorite SK stories - and have felt it could be an outstanding movie - even on a low budget.

I hope they do the story justice.

Other than Eyes of the Dragon, I've never made it all the way through a Stephen King book.

There is only a couple that I didn't.

I think I paid at least part of his kid's college tuition...

No way! There's an actual novel by King that hasn't been made into a movie? What is this world turning into?
Really, what is it about his books that they all need to be made and pre-made into movies and TV shows? If you go to his IMDb page you see like 20 movies a year in his writing credits. I don't think that even King himself watches all of them.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Let’s not get too excited until the cameras actually start to roll. Bear in mind, George Romero once had the rights to it... and that was before I was even born!

I think Steven King would be boring as fuck in RL.
Ask how he wants his coffee and he'd take fifteen fucking pages to tell you.
But apart from his over-descriptiveness, The guy knew how to think up a good and original storyline.

Funny thing about that: what you read as over-descriptive in his books? That's actually the whittled down version. According to On Writing, he says he usually has a mark of cutting down the first draft by 10%. And that struck me as strange, because whenever I showed my first drafts to my professors, they invariably said I should increase my descriptions.
