What do you like and what do you dislike about both? If you could influence a large amount of people to vote the party that you support what would you tell them to convince them? What is wrong about your country's current goverment ?

I like the concept of personal responsibility that many Republicans espouse. However, they seem to pursue this idea to a fault, often ignoring scientific evidence in the hopes of telling everyone that they just need to pull themselves up by the bootstraps and get to work. It's a great idea, in theory, and we can all take steps to to better ourselves and the parts of our lives that we feel are lacking, but plenty of people really cannot get ahead, no matter how hard they try, because of how the odds are stacked against them. That being said, there are also plenty of people who simply refuse to get their shit together... so there's that. I also support the 2nd amendment - I'm a gun owner and believe that gun ownership is a right in the United States, not a privilege... though I also believe in gun control. Yes, it's possible to believe in both. Outside of that, I'm probably left on almost any issue you can think of. I dislike how distrusting Republicans are, and I dislike how cynical Democrats are. If I could influence a large amount of people, I certainly wouldn't be convincing them to vote Democrat or Republican. The two-party system needs to go. It's archaic and counterproductive. What's wrong with the current government in the US? Hell... how much time do you got?

Republicans tend to be taller. Democrats, on average, are slightly better-dressed.

So, in response to him being lazy, you give a lazy response? C'mon champ, you can do better.

I thought this guy was greek. O.o;
As an outsider. I am a brit. The Republicans seem to entirely in the pocket of business and willing to plumb any depths to cling to power. The also seem to be against anyone who isn't a
gazillionaire, opposed to people getting healthcare and waging a war on the environment. I wont even go into the attempt to turn America into a theocracy. The Dems only seem partly in the pocket of business and more willing to communicate in a meaningful manner. You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid. Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis.
Not a fan of either. I come from a republican household, and practically everyone I've met is one. However when I started paying more attention to politics, I realized that they don't really represent poor people, or atheists. So I went Democrat. Unfortunately, while they're slightly better, it's by no wide margin.
About half the country is independent, and the more I look, the more I understand why. We really need a viable third party, but both of the main parties hate that idea, so it doesn't happen. At this point I'm pretty sure if Bernie and the Justice Democrat Squad split off and made a third party, they'd get a lot of support. I vote for the candidates I like the most, whether they're considered viable or not. That's how we all should be voting. I think 2016 should have been a great big wakeup call for a lot of people, because it sure was for me. Republicans and Democrats have the same donors, and largely support the same things. We have a centrist party, and a far right party. The left leaning voters are left twiddling their thumbs.
