How come you never reply to people who bring up legitimate, fact-based counterpoints?

I do. But when their facts have nothing to do with the subject - I don't.

Nobody - myself included - is trying to sing praises of President Trump. I am not endorsing his fitness to the presidency. I am not defending any of his bad behavior.

I am pointing out what political cunts the ( D )s are being about this operation - which was TEXTBOOK PERFECT - including President Trump keeping a lid on information on a need to know basis. He probably did just get lucky.

But it doesn't excuse Pelosi and the others of her ilk for going straight for Trump's nutsack. It's simply more partisan bullshit.

His victory lap is itself an crass gloating embarrassment more befitting of Kim Jong Un than the leader of a nominal country.

Maybe it's my pitying nature, but I think Trump should be allowed to crow a bit over a 'victory' that (long term) is going to achieve fuck-all.  It might be his last chance to do so.

Perfect in what way?   The word is the operation was highly risky and required multiple factors to coincide to offer good chance of greatest success.   If it is executed half cocked and failed it would prejudice chances of success of many future operations.     The operation had been contemplated since early summer, but was called off several times because conditions are not in impact to ensure success.   The condition is still not in place to ensure success, but the Delta force was compelled to execute this operation now because trump's surprise withdrawal precluded the possibility of doing it later at a better time.

In other words, Trump did everything to make the operation fail, by for example effectively surrendering to the czarist Russia and the ottoman empire a century after both of these anachronistic entities went extinct, but the Delta force succeeded anyway, and now it is he, not the Delta force, that is taking a victory lap.

You preferred Jimmy Carter's way? One big overblown clusterfuck?

Did anyone else feel like they were listening to a school yard bully braggart when Trump was describing the details(?) of the event?

Yeah, that "coward" and "dog" business is easy for him to say after the guy is dead.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

Even his victory lap is a disgrace and humiliation for the US.

The president has virtually no input into the planning and execution of military operations like this.    The failure of Eagle Claw is a systemic failure of the US Military, and in no way any fault of Jimmy Carter's.    The success of this operation is the success of the US Military and in absofuckinglutely no way a credit to the trumpster.

The only roles the President of the US has to play, and upon which he is to be rightly judged, are:

1. Prepare the best diplomatic background for the operation:    Carter - yes.   Trump -yeah, right,  it's desperate parting shot by the military to salvage something as the president of the US impulsively capitulated to the ottoman empire and told the armed forces to flee the field.

2. Deliberate carefully  and consider all possible ramification in deciding to proceed:   Carter - by all evidence - yes.   Trump - Are you fucking kidding me?

3. Promote necessary cooperation between the military arm and other government agencies involved:    Carter - yes.  Trump - Are you fucking KIDDING me?

4. Present the most favorable justification and description to the world if it succeeded:  Carter - N/A.  Trump - if gloating crassly like a uneducated playground bully is "most favorable".

5. Take responsibility if it failed:   Carter - Yes.  Trump - ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?

Sorry, Eagle Claw failed, but in the wreckage, Carter showed himself to be an infinitely greater President, to say nothing of the greater man,  than the loofah faced shit gibbon.

Why are there so many people who say they don't like Trump, but try so hard to say that people who don't like him are idiots?

Don't waste your breath, OB.

I'm interested to know if the fanatical Trump haters here reacted this way when bin Laden was killed under the Obama admin.

The attitude here on this forum about Trump literally reminds me of South Park. It's comical, actually.

Just for suggesting that maybe their reactions are a bit over the top, I'll be chastised. It's a joke.

Perhaps you are just a big enough moron to think the circumstances surrounding obama administration’s killing bin Laden is somehow comparable to this administration’s taking credit for killing Al Baghdadi. If you are, shut up and listen, they are not. How different and why different is clearly beyond you can ever hope to begin to grasp.
