Phylogeny looks at evolutionary change specifically; without the evolutionary component, looking at heredity and pedigree does not give you a phylogeny.
The recombination of genetic material that occurs in sexual reproduction does not imply an evolutionary change occurred, despite my genetic makeup looking different from either parent. That's why biologists look at gene pools in a population and track allele frequencies through each generation. As long as my genes are accounted for by each parent, evolution has not occurred.

Unless you are genetically identical to your parents, there's no absence of an observable evolutionary component to consider. Would you like to contend that you are genetically identical to your parents?

I am not genetically identical to either one of my parents.

I’ve never seen anyone put so much effort into pretending they don’t understand something, lol.

The problem is that I do understand it; and it's difficult knowing when to let Gae know he's making errors, and when to just let him continue with his illustration.

Good, I'm glad we can agree that there has been at least some genetic change between you and your parents. Do you think that the same might also be true of beans and tomatoes, and can you think of any test we might be able to devise to determine the extent of similarity and of change between yourself and your parents?

The same can be true of beans; and some comparative analysis between the two should reveal any differences.

Agreed. Can we also agree that a comparative analysis would also establish similarities?

How could you possibly teach anyone anything? You appear to know nothing at all.
