‘Submitting to my husband like it's 1959': Why I became a #TradWife

RE: ‘Submitting to my husband like it's 1959': Why I became a #TradWife
In my opinion it's a big step back, being submissive to a man just because you're a woman and because it's a "traditional" role that women have played for centuries.

I think the women who go along with this believe they cannot survive without a man to look after them, but if they just tried to stand on their own two feet they'd be pleasantly surprised to find that they can survive in this life on their own.

It occurs to me now that this might be (sometimes) a reaction to internalised homophobia/transphobia - you know, many suffer from paranoid nagging doubts of that ilk regarding their identity because they're "just not happy." Returning to archaic gender roles might provide a "safe" feeling RE that stuff.

It’s a shame that Berry Friedan’s The Feminine Mystique exposed how counterproductive such a single-minded focus on archaic gender roles can be. It can work for some, but to expect this to be the default state women should generally strive for is simply not realistic.

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. Aaaa! I am so annoyed by this! Give me these people's addresses so I can find them and kill them! That's why it's urgent to vote for Sanders or Warren because they'll establish communism and stop the civilization from deteriorating like this.

But seriously, people have weird marriages, I mean look at the two current popes: they get naked and shit in each other's lap.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

People can organize their marriage to suit themselves, but this clearly isn't for us radicals who think women are people in their own right.

It's always weird that the people gaining new freedoms in life try to resist it. That's top tier brainwashing right there. Women can vote, hold jobs, divorce, and abort unwanted pregnancies, but some not only refuse it, but tell other women to refuse it too. They're the Uncle Toms of gender inequality.

Astroturfing for what? Christianity? I don't think it's necessary to impute a conspiratorial source of this.

The tradwife brand is a known quantity. Has been for years.

Patriarchy, to the best of my knowledge. Possibly a side order of alt-right ideology, if the Google Search results I’ve been able to find are any indication.
